THE IMPACT OF NEW MEDIA

  Introduction to New Media course has been an interesting course this semester. Before this class ,I thought I had a pretty good handle on how I used social media and the internet. But this course made me understood that I was just scratching the surface. The course has completely changed the way I see and interact with the digital world. Since the internet doesn’t forget.

 I’ve always been a social media user ,but i never really considered how online communities were is about.

Through this course I’ve been able to open my personal blogger account ,I’ve been able to navigate my way on twitter (X) and instagram.

Creating account and launching a selfcare campaign on these social platforms . Helping me create engaging contents for my audience.Although am not perfect but I know after this course I will be able to learn new things .

Another impact of this class is ,it has helped me understand content creation ,advertising and Digital storytelling .

Through this campaign (selfcare)I’ve been able to know what my audience wants and how to feed them with exciting content.Engaging in live sessions and more .

Again introduction to new media class has made me understood that the internet doesn’t forget .so every thing you do should be in the right way.Digital privacy,having strong passwords for your account and keeping your information safe from been exposed.

I thought everything on social media was true , but attending to new media class I realized not everything you see online is true .That fake news travels longer than the truth.

This course made me has made me like deep research and reading to know if the news is newsworthy or not.

And also as a journalism student fact checking is one of the key to telling or bringing out newsworthy stories.

It has changed my perception
